The Social Work, Health and Nursing Faculty trains teachers in nursing, obstetrics and geriatric and paediatric nursing with the bachelor’s in Pedagogics of Nursing and provides academic training on the path to becoming a nursing teacher. With this bachelor’s course, the University is providing a specific academic offer in nursing teacher training.

The educational goal of the course is to qualify nurses systematically for vocational teaching and teaching-relevant nursing tasks. A modern understanding of training and independent training goals are taken into account, along with integrative practical relevance (lectures and nursing practicals) of the profession in vocational training.

Therefore, the course qualifies for two fields of nursing activity. On the one hand for a teaching role in training and further training in the nursing profession and, on the other, for application-oriented nursing science. To strengthen the action orientation and to guarantee the highest possible practical relevance, on the teaching side the course incorporates an accompanied practical phase over 20 weeks in a later working field and practicals in the teaching-learning lab. On the nursing science side, a project is undertaken with healthcare institutions from the Lake Constance and Upper Swabia region. In addition to the pedagogical-didactical, educational and professional teaching, there is a particular focus with the main subjects on a subject-oriented consideration of nursing and teaching. Accordingly, there are detailed seminars to promote personal and social competence (e.g. conversation, rhetoric, mediation).

30 students a year are enrolled in the winter semester. The full-time Pedagogics of Nursing course lasts seven semesters, including a practical semester and concludes with the internationally recognized Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). The course admission requirements are a certificate of eligibility for university entrance (e.g. University of Applied Sciences Ravensburg Weingarten Bachelor’s in Pedagogics of Nursing The Social Work, Health and Nursing Faculty trains teachers in nursing, obstetrics and geriatric and paediatric nursing with the bachelor’s in Pedagogics of Nursing and provides academic training on the path to becoming a nursing teacher. With this bachelor’s course, the University is providing a specific academic offer in nursing teacher training. The educational goal of the course is to qualify nurses systematically for vocational teaching and teaching-relevaiversity entrance examination) and professional training in nursing, paediatric or geriatric nursing, or as a midwife.

A student’s decision to attend Bryant & Stratton College should be based on interest in our programs and not on the ability to meet all college costs. Bryant & Stratton College believes students should not be denied the opportunity to pursue their career interests because of a lack of financial resources.

To assist students in meeting their educational expenses, Bryant & Stratton College participates in several types of financial assistance programs - gift aid (scholarships and grants), low-interest loans, and employment opportunities. In many cases, our Financial Services Office awards qualified students a financial aid “package” which includes all three types of financial aid.

Assistance with financial planning is available for families on an individual basis to help them determine how they can best utilize their own resources and other funds to meet college costs. The Financial Services Office will gladly discuss the various types of financial assistance available and will provide students with assistance in completing financial forms during their visit to Bryant & Stratton College.

How to Apply
Students are encouraged to meet with a financial aid advisor in order to determine financial aid qualifications. A member of the financial aid staff will help students to complete the following application forms:
Financial Aid Forms - The “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) is available from the Financial Services Office or apply online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. The form must be completed and forwarded to the Department of Education, where it is then processed. In some cases, the school may process the student’s application electronically in order to reduce processing time. New York students receive an Express TAP Application (ETA) from NYSHESC. Eligibility for financial assistance is determined by federal and state agencies, which will produce and send an output document directly to the student.
Federal Income Tax Returns - Students may be required to provide the Financial Services Office a copy of their own and/or their spouse’s and/or their parent’s federal and state income tax returns, including schedules, as well as any additional income and asset information requested by the school.
Upon evaluation of the above forms, the Financial Services Office will notify students of their eligibility for financial aid or of any other steps they may take to receive further consideration for assistance.

Students are required to apply on an annual basis for financial aid consideration. Students may obtain the forms described above annually beginning on approximately January 1 at the Financial Services Office for application for the next financial aid year which begins on July 1.

Program: 369 Semesters: 5m Total Credit Hours: 72

Description
The mission of the Nursing Program is to provide quality nursing education in North Central Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin and to facilitate the provision of exceptional healthcare in the regions. The Nursing Program emphasizes classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences that prepare students for both the world of work and for life-long learning. Computer aided instruction, telecommunications technology, clinical simulation and other technical learning strategies are seen as integral components of the delivery methods needed to serve the educational needs of students in the 21st century.

The purpose of the Nursing Program is to prepare Nursing Program graduates to function in professional registered nursing roles. The program provides a foundation of learning which promotes integration of clinical decision making processes into the provision of nursing care for meeting the health/illness needs of patients across the life span. The three roles of the associate degree nurse (Provider of Care, Manager of Care, and Member of the Discipline of Nursing) describe nursing practice and role expectations of the entry level registered nurse. The core components of those roles, as established by the National League for Nursing (NLN, 2000) are as follows: professional behaviors, communication, assessment, clinical decision making, caring interventions, teaching and learning, collaboration, and managing care. The organizing framework provides direction for the selection and ordering of learning experiences to achieve program outcomes.
