Nursing care is a science based on practices. In practical settings, nursing is done to match for aiding patients’ needs through providing care with creative, skillful, and unique nursing practice methods. You will study the foundations for nursing practices that are the based for the care.
Further, this is a class to develop and study basic nursing practices. Here the nursing practices are studied to make it the base of practical works such as care techniques for daily life, care techniques in medical treatment, and application of nursing care.
Moreover, teachers study and research with students about the method of study to find out the most efficient way of learning.

Nursing is a research-based practice that requires implementing research outcomes. In order to provide care for persons who are holistic beings, conducting research studies should be done by integrating and expanding of knowledge from nursing and other disciplines, such as philosophy, ethics, education, sociology, etc. some examples of our research titles are the following:
- The body in a Life world perspective
- Ethical dilemmas which nursing students experience in clinical practice.
- How do male nursing students experience the "barrier" of a traditional female profession?
- Components of social support among Japanese women with breast cancer
- A longitudinal study of social support, psychological, and physical states among Japanese
Research
_ The formation process of attachment between the low birth weight infant and mother.
_ Plays of the children in hospital.
_ The support system in hospital and community for chronically ill or disabled children and their families.
Education
In the first semester, the 3rd graders learn basic knowledge and theory of nursing care for children, a support method to children by lectures and practices of nursing care for children.
In the second semester, the 3rd graders learn the condition children and their families are in through experience of caring for them.
Older people are necessitated to change their daily lives, because of age-related changes and diseases. "Nursing care for older people"is designed for students to understand older peoples' diversity, and learning to provide health care for older adult in all settings. We teach students nursing interventions to prevent, maintain, restore, and promote health for aging individuals. In addition, we teach students to knowledge and skills to spiritually prepare aging citizens for their coming death. Cooperation with other professionals is a necessity for gerontological nursing especially; we teach how to cooperate with them.
"Clinical performance for older people" is designed for students learning
Community Health Nursing is nursing which aimed at the health of people who are living regionally, and improvement in QOL. An individual, a family, and a specific group are influenced of living environment. Community Health Nursing is caught about a local resident's healthy problem from the living place (a family, a community, and environment). It is one of community nursing activities to help so that health may be protected itself and the problem on healthy can be solved. Adult health nursing focuses on the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health for adults. The department offers specialization in the care of adults with actual or potential health problems. The courses emphasize comprehensive physical health, psychological health, social health and spiritual health in acute and chronic health conditions.
Education
We provide opportunities for the implementation of professional nursing care to facilitate health maintenance and restoration for adult patients with chronic health conditions as well as acute/critical care and preoperative nursing care.
