The Associate in Science Degree Nursing Program is designed to prepare the individual student for a career as a professional nurse. The program’s mission is to prepare competent, compassionate, and culturally sensitive entry-level nursing graduates whose professional practice encompasses legal and ethical decision-making in the promotion of health in the community. The practice of professional nursing requires the performance of those acts, which require substantial specialized knowledge, critical judgment, critical thinking, and nursing skill, based upon applied scientific principles. The graduate nurse practices holistic nursing incorporating biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and wellness concepts.

To be admitted to the Master of Science in Nursing, applicants must have graduated from a state-approved and regionally accredited Associate degree program and have completed a Bachelor's degree (nursing or non-nursing) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Application Deadlines and Procedures
Applicants are considered for admission for the fall and spring semesters. Completed applications
for admission and supporting documentation must be received no later than:
• June 1 for fall semester
• November 1 for spring semester

Northwest Florida State College has been granted approval by the Florida Department of Education to offer the RN to BSN Program. NWF State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges Schools to offer the RN to BSN Program. Students completing this new baccalaureate program will be able to finish all upper division course work through the college and receive the RN to BSN degree from Northwest Florida State College. The Nurse Educator program requires the graduate student to complete 37 semester hours, one semester in a clinical setting, one semester in an education setting, and a scholarly project. Courses within the two year degree can be applied towards the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at a four year institution.
