Requirements for R N to B S N at Lourdes College Ohio

The R.N. to B.S.N. program is designed for registered nurses who graduated from diploma or associate degree programs and do not have a B.S.N. The nursing program can be completed on a full time or a part time basis with the scheduling of classes during the day or evening. Many of the classes are designed to meet once a week. The curriculum is flexible to meet the needs of the students, nursing profession and society. Bypass credit will be given based upon upper division nursing credit.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing at La Roche College Pennsylvania

The baccalaureate program is designed to offer registered nurse students (graduates from diploma and associate degree programs) the opportunity to complete a professional degree that focuses on the scholarly approach to the discipline of nursing. This is an 18-month program and can be completed on line or one evening a week in the traditional classroom setting. The baccalaureate program provides a foundation for graduate education in nursing. The bachelor of science degree program for registered nurses is accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commision (NLNAC), 61 Broadway, New York, New York, 10006, (212) 363-5555 (www.nlnac.org).

The objectives of this program are to insure that graduates will be able to:
Understand the relationship of liberal arts and sciences with nursing as a basis for professional identity
Practice within the Structure of the Code of Ethics and Standards of the discipline
Utilize the process of scholarly inquiry as the basis for health care decision-making and nursing practice
Critique research for the purpose of applying findings to nursing practice
Participate with the community in the political and regulatory processes which influence health care

Many graduates of the La Roche B.S.N. program elect to pursue graduate work at the College. Specific entrance requirements, admission procedures, course descriptions, etc., for graduate study are available from the La Roche College Office of Admissions for Graduate and Continuing Education.

Students Admitted to the Current/Revised Curriculum
The program is open only to registered nurses and requires 120 credits for graduation. To complete the nursing major successfully, the following course work is required:
24 prerequisite credits which must include 12 science credits
36 credits Nursing Mobility Profile II (NCLEX) or articulation agreement direct transfer of nursing credits
30 liberal arts credits
30 nursing component credits (18 credits of which are required; 12 credits of nursing electives)

ASN at Regis College Massachusetts

This associate of science in nursing program provides expert faculty and a diverse and flexible curriculum which maximizes clinical learning experience. Clinical sites include major Boston teaching hospitals, suburban hospitals and a variety of community sites. Graduates qualify to take the national examination for licensure as registered nurses.

Convenient location in a community setting

Professional courses in nursing and radiography are held on the Medford campus located seven miles north of Boston. The Medford campus shares its site with Lawrence Memorial Hospital, a 134-bed, non-profit acute care facility, and the Courtyard Nursing Care Center, a 224-bed state-of-the-art nursing center, both affiliates of Hallmark Health. In addition to providing clinical experience for students, the hospital serves as a clinical education site for health professionals and medical students from a number of area colleges and universities. Required general education courses for both programs are offered on the main campus of Regis College in Weston, MA. On the Weston campus, students have access to all Regis College sites including libraries, laboratories, technology centers and athletic facilities. Since both campuses are located close to Boston, students enjoy entertainment, shopping, and dining venues as well as historical and cultural events unique to the city.

RN BSN Completion at University Of Detroit Mercy

The RN-BSN Completion program is a flexible option for registered nurses who have completed diploma or associate degree programs.

The RN-BSN completion program accommodates learning needs and career goals of the adult learner with minimal repetition of learning experiences. The program supports enhancement and growth through the study of liberal arts and sciences, as well as the study of professional nursing.

Competencies needed by BSN-prepared nurses are emphasized, including leadership and management skills, health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease management strategies for clients, families, and communities, and health care economics.

Additional skills include effective use of evidence-based proactive protocol to ensure delivery of cost-effective and appropriate care, use of information technology in clinical settings to manage and make clinical decisions, and care-and case-management strategies with enhanced understanding of healthcare economics and policies.

The RN-BSN completion option can be completed through part-time study at extended campuses, online, at Grand Rapids/Muskegon locations, in partnership with various health care systems, and at the University Center at Macomb Community College in Clinton Township.

Accredited by NLNAC, Excelsior College associate degrees in nursing are the only ones you can earn at a distance. While you work in a health care clinical setting, you can study independently and test for credit in a respected program that prepares you to make a difference as an RN. It also prepares you to take the NCLEX® exam: Excelsior College graduates have an NCLEX® pass rate for first-time test takers that is at or above the national average.

On the associate level, you can choose from one of two nursing degrees: the Associate in Science (AS) or the Associate in Applied Science (AAS).

What You’ll Learn

At Excelsior College, we believe that the practice of nursing at the associate degree level involves three complementary and interrelated roles: provider of care, manager of care, and member of the profession. Degree Requirements

Both the Associate in Science (AS) and the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) require successful completion of 67 semester credits, including 31 in general education and 36 in nursing. The two degree programs have identical nursing component requirements but differ slightly in the general education requirements.

Many requirements for these degree programs may be met by taking Excelsior College Examinations. Of course, before registering for any courses or examinations, we encourage you to discuss degree requirements further with an Excelsior College academic advisor.

Technical Standards

Technical standards are the required and essential abilities that an individual must effectively demonstrate as an Excelsior College Associate Degree nursing student taking the Clinical Performance Nursing Examination (CPNE®).

The CPNE tests a student’s application of the nursing process and technical components for nursing practice in the care of adults and children in the acute care setting. Therefore the nursing student must be able to perform the following:

Communicate (both verbally and in writing) with English speaking patients and/or family members/significant others as well as members of the health care team, including nurses, physicians, support staff and faculty;

At the associate degree level, emphasis is placed on providing and managing direct care to individuals with common well defined problems. The associate degree graduate functions as a team member using nursing diagnoses and established protocols for individuals in acute care and community based settings. Additionally, the graduate participates as a member of the profession in appropriate specialty and politically focused nursing organizations.

Upon completion of this program, the student is eligible for the National Council of State Board of Nursing Licensing Examination (NCLEX) and, after passing the examination, is licensed as a Registered Nurse by the state(s) to which application is made.

Registered Nursing at Gulf Coast College

PROGRAM GOAL: The purpose of the associate degree nursing program is to prepare students for eligibility to apply for the Registered Nurse National Council Licensing Examination.

The nursing program is fully approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League of Nursing and the Accrediting Commission. Institutional membership is maintained in the NLN Council of Associate Degree Programs and the Organization of Associate Degree Nursing.

Upon successful completion of the prescribed course of study, students receive an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing which enables them to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Upon successful completion of this examination, the Registered Nurse (R.N.) License is received.

This program will articulate into a baccalaureate degree program in nursing at all universities in the State University System.

Before beginning this program of study, students should obtain a program application packet from the Division of Health Sciences containing a current listing of admission and course requirements.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Application to Gulf Coast Community College must be completed prior to applying for the associate degree nursing program.
Submit the completed nursing program application to Health Sciences Division.
Submit all previous school transcripts (including high school/GED and all previous colleges) to the Office of Admission and Records for evaluation.
Submit proof, as outlined in the application packet, of college level competency in reading, English, and algebra.
Successfully complete, with a “C” or higher, BSC 2085 and BSC 2085L (Anatomy and Physiology I lecture and Lab).
Successfully complete the nursing school entrance exam. (Registration process, study information, and minimum scores are contained in the nursing application packet).
Schedule appointment with assigned nursing faculty Adviser.

It should be understood that admission to the nursing program is a selective process. The satisfaction of minimum requirements does not automatically guarantee admission. When space is limited, preference may be given to students within the community college’s assigned district.

Deadline for Selection: All entry requirements, as outlined in the program application packet, must be completed by the appropriate deadlines for the two start dates each year. The deadline for the fall start date is the last working day of February and the deadline for the spring start date is the last working day of September.

Post Master Nursing Education at Villanova University

The post-master’s certificate program in Nursing Education prepares experienced master’s-prepared nurses to assume leadership roles and educational positions in academic and health care settings. Students can select to prepare for faculty roles in baccalaureate and associate degree programs, or with staff development positions in health care settings.

The five courses (15 credits) prepare students with the foundational knowledge essential for successful careers in nursing education. The courses build upon students’ existing knowledge and focus on curriculum/program development and classroom/clinical teaching. Students are placed with preceptors who serve as mentors and role models. Our graduates are employed in academic and clinical settings around the world.

The 15 credits are offered both on-site at Villanova University and as a synchronous online format. This offers students’ flexibility and at the same time enables them to engage with doctorally-prepared faculty and other students to explore issues within nursing education.

Master Nursing Education at Villanova University

The nursing education concentration prepares nurses to assume leadership roles as dynamic educators in baccalaureate and associate degree programs, staff development, continuing education and community education programs. Nurses who progress from this MSN concentration to our PhD program find their course of study expedited.

As you develop as a nursing educator, you will create curricula, plan programs and teach with experts. This concentration also gives you the opportunity to spend time with a nurse educator to begin to internalize the critical educator role.

At the completion of this concentration, the graduate is able to:
Integrate advanced knowledge and experience in a broadly-based clinical practice area into the educator role.
Participate knowledgeably in the development, implementation, revision, and evaluation of nursing curricula and nursing programs.
Apply theories of education and related sciences as a basis for education.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and educational resources to facilitate learning in the classroom and clinical areas and to enhance student and staff development.

Nursing Associate Degree at State University Of New York Delhi

Delhi’s Associate Degree Nursing program is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level positions as registered nurses. In this two-year program, students learn to take personal responsibility for their patients and to make decisions with regard to the physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional needs of each patient. Direct, holistic patient care is emphasized.

Clinical rotations are scheduled at primary, secondary and tertiary health care settings. The mental health component of the program gives students exposure in both acute care and community treatment programs. Graduates earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing and are eligible to take the NCLEX examination for Registered Nurses.
