Nursing Admission Detail at Concordia College

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is a 15-month, 61-credit post-baccalaureate course of study for college graduates with a degree in a major other than nursing. Graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam leading to licensure in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse. Passing the test will allow graduates to enter the nursing work force.

The nursing program is a great fit with the College’s mission and Concordia is the perfect place for you to pursue your second or “new” career.
Nursing Application Process

The college offers a second degree program for students wishing to enter the nursing field. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is an accelerated, 15 month, day program that begins in the fall of each year.

Admission Requirements:
Completed application – print application
Application fee of $50
Resume
Official transcripts from all schools attended
Must have completed all the following (pre-requisite) courses within the past 5 years with a minimum of a “B” in each course:
Chemistry (4 credits);
Microbiology (4 credits);
Anatomy and Physiology (8 credits)
Must have completed a college bachelors’ degree program with a 3.2 CUM GPA or higher
Letter of Recommedation

Once the above items have been submitted, students will then conclude the process with

Interview with the Dean of Nursing
Passing score on a writing sample.

The admission decision will be made after all steps are completed and requirements are met.

April 1 – Application Deadline (Application must be completed)
April 15 – Decision Notification (We will mail out decision letters)
April 30 – Deposit Deadline (We must be in receipt of your deposit on or before this date)
