Program Admission Requirement
· Grade 12 or GED
· Biology 12 with a grade of C or equivalent within the last 5 years
· English 12 with a grade of C or equivalent.
· Acceptable RCS or HSA/RCA Certificate (certificates issued prior to 1993 also require Caring for Persons with Dementia course)
· Minimum 600 hours as Resident Care Attendant in a facility working with a group of patients at the same time (confirmed by
employer’s letter) within the past two years.

The Post-Master’s Certificates are available to nurses who already hold a master’s degree in nursing or in a related field.

Health Professions Educator Certificate - 12 credit hours
This interdisciplinary certificate affords graduate-prepared nurses broader opportunities and the necessary skill to find positions in nursing education at the various levels and become leaders in their field. Paired with faculty mentors throughout the program, students complete applied teaching projects in each educator course, including a final student teaching capstone. Students may complete the health professions educator certificate within their master’s program or as post-master’s study. All courses are Web-based. Leadership Certificates
Organizational Leadership, Healthcare Informatics and Public Health Nursing certificate students choose one course from the Leadership core, as part of the course requirements for each program.

The 39-42 credit CNS advanced practice (AP) specialties may be completed in 15 to 18 months of full or part-time study including summer. Core courses and support courses for the advanced practice CNS options are offered on both the Harrisburg and Main Campuses. A minimum 500 hours of clinical practice are required.
The 46-credit FNP program may be completed on either the Harrisburg or Main Campus in 20 months of full-time study or 24 months part-time study including summer. 672 hours of advanced clinical practice are required. Post-masters certificates are available for each of specialty options. Credits required vary with the option and prior educational preparation.
