Tuition at Davenport is affordable, but we know that going to college can still strain your budget. The good news is this: Most of DU’s students receive financial aid. Even if you’ve been out of school for a few years, there’s financial aid available, so check it out.
Here’s the process
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online to determine your eligibility. This single form allows you to apply for all available State and Federal aid. (The Federal School Code for Davenport = 002249 Michigan)
If you have already applied to another college, you must transfer your financial aid package to Davenport University. Get started with your financial aid transfer here.
Your application to DU automatically considers you for any available DU Institutional Scholarships.
Check out scholarships from the Davenport Foundation, too. Apply here.
If you need a student loan, get started with your application here. (Scroll to Stafford Loans and click + )
Watch Davenportal > Accounts & Services > Financial Aid for information on your awards. (You will receive your Davenportal login credentials on acceptance to DU)

Scholarships
Davenport University offers a number of partial scholarships to international students. These scholarships, based on academic performance at Davenport University, are available for tuition, housing assistance and work-study positions on campus. The application deadline each year is May 31.
Employment
International students with F-1 status may have an opportunity to be employed while attending Davenport University. Here are some types of employment that may be available:
On-Campus Employment
As an international student, you can usually be employed at the location that issued your Form I-20. You are eligible as soon as you begin full-time classes and remain eligible as long as you maintain F-1 status. You can work up to 20 hours per week while school is in session. During official school breaks, up to 40 hours per week are permitted. Note: F-1 students may be employed in any on-campus position that does not displace a U.S. worker. Employment in this category need not necessarily be related to your course of study.
Off-Campus Employment
For practical experience in your field of study, F-1 students may want to apply for temporary employment in that field. You must be enrolled at Davenport for at least one academic year before being considered for practical training employment. There are two types of practical training.
Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
Students with F-1 status for at least nine consecutive months are eligible. Authorization is only available prior to completion of your academic program. Students in the ESL program are ineligible for this type of employment.
Optional Practical Training (OPT)
Students with F-1 status for at least one academic year are eligible. Authorization may be available before or after completion of your studies. Only 12 months of employment is available.
