Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent, currently registered wih the Nurses Board of Western Australia (or Australian state equivalent) and have minimum one year post-registration experience or equivalent.

Provides nurses practising in the area of child and adolescent mental health with the knowledge and skills to ensure optimum outcomes for children and adolescents and as well as the key individuals within their support systems.
Takes a holistic view of the child or young person in their psychosocial and physical environment and will cover social trends and contemporary influences. It considers the unique social and legal position of children and adolescents within their families and its impact upon the approaches used by mental health nurses.
Students will examine current evidenced-based practice and the nurse’s role in the interdisciplinary approach to care offered to the child or adolescent and their family and/or carers.

Expands the mental health nurse’s knowledge base and enable informed and competent practice in the forensic settings. Equips students with the necessary assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skills required for nursing mentally disordered offenders in the forensic and community settings. Enables student to explore their attitudes to the mentally disordered offenders to encourage a positive approach to this group of clients.
Admission requirements
A current registration as a nurse
Current employment in a forensic mental health or custodial setting that meets the approval of the course coordinator.
Applicants will be required to provide evidence of such employment as a part of the application process.

Prepares nurses to undertake advanced level roles in nurse education, training, continuing education, and or staff development in the health care sector.
Focusses on developing and enhancing sound teaching and learning knowledge, skills and practices which with allow the graduate to impact on the next generation of nurses.
Graduates of this course will be equipped for leadership roles in clinical environments where education and training are conducted. Settings for these positions include clinics, hospital settings, out-patient facilities, businesses, schools, and community centers.
Admission requirements
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
Two years of clinical experience is preferred but not mandatory.
This course is not available for on-campus study by students on an International student visa.

These skills will impact on the effective delivery of services in the primary, secondary and emergency arenas and facilitate participants’ involvement in telephone triage and consultation.

A cross-institutional Master of Nursing degree (by Coursework) enabling the student to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to apply for registration as a Nurse Practitioner to the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia.
Developed in conjunction with the Flinders University in South Australia, Part One of the program enables the student to first enhance their individual knowledge and skill whilst working in their selected area of specialisation and then, through the second part of the program, to acquire the theoretical knowledge and skills required of a Nurse Practitioner in a specialist nurse or extended practice role.
