The Social Work, Health and Nursing Faculty trains teachers in nursing, obstetrics and geriatric and paediatric nursing with the bachelor’s in Pedagogics of Nursing and provides academic training on the path to becoming a nursing teacher. With this bachelor’s course, the University is providing a specific academic offer in nursing teacher training.

The educational goal of the course is to qualify nurses systematically for vocational teaching and teaching-relevant nursing tasks. A modern understanding of training and independent training goals are taken into account, along with integrative practical relevance (lectures and nursing practicals) of the profession in vocational training.

Therefore, the course qualifies for two fields of nursing activity. On the one hand for a teaching role in training and further training in the nursing profession and, on the other, for application-oriented nursing science. To strengthen the action orientation and to guarantee the highest possible practical relevance, on the teaching side the course incorporates an accompanied practical phase over 20 weeks in a later working field and practicals in the teaching-learning lab. On the nursing science side, a project is undertaken with healthcare institutions from the Lake Constance and Upper Swabia region. In addition to the pedagogical-didactical, educational and professional teaching, there is a particular focus with the main subjects on a subject-oriented consideration of nursing and teaching. Accordingly, there are detailed seminars to promote personal and social competence (e.g. conversation, rhetoric, mediation).

30 students a year are enrolled in the winter semester. The full-time Pedagogics of Nursing course lasts seven semesters, including a practical semester and concludes with the internationally recognized Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Bachelor Degree in Nursing at University Of Wyoming

The Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing offers a baccalaureate program with three options to obtain the BSN degree:

1. Basic BSN – a basic, entry-level BSN option for the student wishing to become a registered nurse at the baccalaureate level.

2. Bachelors Reach for Accelerated Nursing Degree (BRAND) – an accelerated BSN option for the student who has already achieved a previous non-nursing baccalaureate degree and wishes to become a registered nurse at the baccalaureate level.

3. RN/BSN Completion
– a BSN completion option for the registered nurse who wishes to further their education to the baccalaureate level.

Please refer to the appropriate section following to obtain specific details related to the option you are interested in for obtaining the BSN degree.

RNs with a non-nursing baccalaureate degree – for the student whose ultimate educational goal is to earn a master’s degree in nursing, it is not required that a baccalaureate degree in nursing be earned prior to applying for the graduate program. Evidence of additional prerequisite courses is required. All admission requirements to the graduate program must be met prior to acceptance for that program, and there is no guarantee of admission. Basic BSN

This option is an on-campus, basic, entry-level BSN option for students who are interested in pursuing to become a registered nurse.

Second baccalaureate degree seeking students have the option of pursuing the Basic BSN or BRAND (see information under that heading). Students who are planning an associate degree for the RN first should consider the RN/BSN Completion (see information under that heading).

Nursing Graduate at Nagoya City University

In the Graduate School of Nursing, the Doctoral course was established in 2005 following the establishment of
the Master’s course in 2003.
The educational goal of the Master’s course is to foster research and practical capabilities to solve problems
and issues in the clinical field, consisting of six areas of research.
The Doctoral course is intended to develop excellent educators and researchers who promote academic
