Nursing Admission Detail at Medical Academy in Lodz Poland
Admission for academic year 2009/2010 has started.
Deadline for submitting application documents :
- 31 March for candidates - graduates from previous years
- 30 June for candidates graduating in 2009
A week prior to start of qualifying interviews candidates will be informed they have been qualified for interviews intended to ascertain their motivation for medical studies as well as basic biology knowledge and command of English.
Dates of interviews : 15 April - 15 May 2009 - candidates from previous years
6 July - 31 July 2009 - graduates from 2009
Announcement of accepted candidates :
- 30 May - candidates from previous years
- 15 August - graduates from 2009
Required documents:
- Completed Application Form
- High School Diploma / Transcript of Records at BSc level-resp (must not be more than 10 years old).
- Medical Health Certificate/Form completed and signed by the
applicant’s doctor
- Photocopy of the applicant’s passport
- 3 recent passport photographs signed on the back
- Criminal clearance record
All documents should be originals or certified copies (i.e. originally sealed and signed by eligible institutions/person).
High school diploma(or equivalent) holders -please take time to read carefully below notice:
Documents which confirm secondary education (high school diploma, maturity certificate, school leaving certificate) must contain a clause that their holders have access to higher education institution in their own country.
In case Diploma/Certificate does not include such a clause, the authorities of the school issuing the certificate may give a separate note confirming this fact.
Please pay attention to the nostrification procedure of the secondary school diploma as below:
According to the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Science on the Nostrification of School Certificates Obtained Abroad (April 6th, 2006) any school certificate obtained abroad has to be legalized in the country in which it was issued and then presented to the local educational authority (Kuratorium Oświaty) in Poland in order to be nostrified (recognized).
A person applying for confirmation of Maturity Certificate (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or foreign equivalent must submit at Kuratorium Oświaty (Inspector-General’s Office for Education):
- application for nostrification
- original or duplicate of the certificate obtained abroad duly legalized in the closest Polish Consulate or provided with an apostile
- declaration that the certificate has not been the subject of other nostrification procedure in Poland
- confirmation that the school certificate entitles to apply for enrollment for higher education if respective clause is missing .
- sworn translation into Polish of the certificate and a/m attestation (if it was issued in a foreign language).
The above does not apply to the certificates issued in the countries which have signed a bilateral agreement on the recognition of educational credentials with Poland.
7. Admission Criteria
6-YEAR PROGRAM - designed for high school/secondary school graduates wishing to complete both their pre-clinical and clinical education in European country. The program is based on the EU medical curriculum.
The candidates are expected to excel in basic science courses in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics.
Advance placements (AP) or honors in biology, chemistry and physics would be highly recommended.
4-YEAR MEDICAL CURRICULUM - as a part of the 6 year program, is tailor-made for those college/university graduates who meet the following admission criteria:
Chemistry/general (I and II) 8 credits incl.lab.
Chemistry/organic (I and II) 8 credits incl.lab.
Biology (I and II) 8 credits incl.lab.
Physics (I and II) 8 credits incl.lab.
Each candidate should demonstrate a record of at least 2 years of college/university full time academic education. MCAT scores or equivalent will be an advantage, as well as the science majors in biology, physics and chemistry.
Written and spoken English competency is required and must be proved on respective graduation document however one of the English language international certificates like CAE,CPE,TOEFL,IELTS for non-native speakers would be an asset.
Total 6 years / 12 semester of medical education is the state /EU standard to confer medical degree.
