Practical Nursing from Brunswick Community College Tennessee

The Practical Nursing curriculum prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults.

Students will participate in assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.

Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) which is required for practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals, rehabilitation/long term care/home health facilities, clinics, and physicians’ offices.

LPN to AAS at University of Alaska

Licensed Practical Nurses may complete the AAS Nursing Program in three semesters. Admission to the clinical sequence is selective and determined by a ranking process. Students are encouraged to complete co-requisite courses while waiting to qualify for admission to the clinical sequence.

Within the LPN to RN Option, licensed practical nurse students returning to school to complete the AAS degree in nursing will be in the LPN Direct Articulation track.

Admission Prerequisites for LPN to AAS - Direct Articulation
High School Algebra or MATH 055 or math placement test (showing ability to take MATH 105)
High School Biology with lab or BIOL 102 and BIOL 103 or BIOL 111/L
High School Chemistry with lab or CHEM 055/L or higher level chemistry
Current Active Alaska LPN License
UAA admission to AAS nursing pre-major
School of Nursing Application , 3 letters of recommendation, confidential form
Standardized Exam Score (currently Nurse Entrance Test (NET) score)

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

LPN Direct Articulation Track: This track enables the LPN to enter NURS A125/125L (please note that NURS 180 is a co-requisite if not completed already) of the AAS nursing program. Upon successful completion of NURS A125 with a ‘C’ or higher grade, and NURS A125L with a ‘pass,’ the student would be granted UAA course credits for NURS A120 and NURS A120L, for a total of 7 credits. To receive credit, the student must complete the appropriate form and pay an administrative fee per UAA policy. (NOTE: Any direct articulation LPN student not passing NURS A125/125L would not receive credit for NURS A120/120L.)

At New Jersey’s Jesuit College, our baccalaureate students will be exposed to a rich “core curriculum” which includes courses in the humanities, natural and social sciences, fine arts, philosophy, and theology. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Requirements at Governors State University

Students must meet all university requirements for a
bachelor’s degree.

In addition, all nursing courses must be completed with
a grade of “C” or better. A student may repeat a nursing
course only once to earn a grade of “C” or better without
being academically dismissed from the degree program.
