This program prepares beginning caregivers with a professional approach to their practice, a holistic view of patient care, a process orientation to their work, and a clear understanding of their role within the health care system and within the nursing community.

Following completion of the program and an orientation to the agency, the graduate will be able to provide care in partnership with other health care professionals to selected clients of all ages chosen on the basis of acuity and complexity in the following areas: long-term care, extended care, home care, community settings, and general medicine and surgery areas in acute care.

Associate Level of Nursing Program:

The Associate program provides a comprehensive foundation of general education and nursing knowledge necessary for nursing practice and continuing professional education. The program provides the necessary skills and competencies for graduates to assume registered nursing positions in acute, rehabilitation, and long-term care agencies. This is an entry level program into nursing.

The Associate program is a six semester year-round program comprised on 72 credit hours available online or on-site (available in Columbus, OH only).

B.S. in Nursing at Adelphi University New York

The basic curriculum is a four-year sequence of nursing and science courses leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) that also meets the eligibility requirements for the New York State Registered Professional Nurse examination. This 124-credit program emphasizes a holistic approach to health and wellness and focuses on the nurse’s role in research, advocacy, teaching, change, and management.

The basic curriculum consists of a planned progression of nursing and science courses. The lower division courses are prerequisites to the junior-level nursing courses.
