Nursing Degrees Online

Begin by completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to list Neumann College in Step Six and enter our college code, 003988, in the space provided.

Once the FAFSA is processed, a Student Aid Report (SAR) will be mailed to you from the processor. Be sure to verify the information you reported. If additional information is requested, or if there is an error, please respond immediately. You do not need to submit your SAR to the Financial Aid Office. The processor will send us the results electronically.

If you do not hear something from our Financial Aid office within 3 weeks of filing, please feel free to call 610-558-5521 to confirm general amounts for which you qualify. Keep in mind you must register for your classes before your specific aid can be released. Here is some additional information you may find helpful:

Application and acceptance to a degree program is required to receive federal aid

Half-time status is necessary for eligibility - half-time is considered 4.5 credits per semester.

Students must meet academic progress standards set by Neumann College to continue to borrow Federal funds while enrolled in our degree programs.

Students may apply for alternative student loans to help with educational expenses.

Students may borrow student loans to cover expenses for tuition and fees, along with additional expenses such as books and living expenses.

Master of Science and Graduate Certificate Programs in Pastoral Care & Counseling

Founded in 1982 with the Pastoral Counseling track, the Graduate Program in Pastoral Care & Counseling actively integrates psychology and spirituality in an ecumenical learning community that is both spiritually nurturing and intellectually challenging. The Neumann approach stresses a developmental understanding of individuals and groups, preparing students to meet the unique mental and spiritual demands of a complex pluralistic world, while responding in a spirit of contemplative love. People of all faiths and spiritual practices are welcome. In 1990, the Spiritual Direction Track was developed to provide training in spiritual direction and additional courses in spirituality.

Neumann College’s Master of Science and Graduate Certificate Programs in Nursing are consistent with the College’s Mission Statement and Vision Statement and the goals of Catholic education in the Franciscan tradition. The purpose of the graduate program in Nursing is to enhance professional nursing practice, based upon the Betty Neuman Systems Model, through the liberal education of individuals who provide advanced nursing care to persons of a diverse population, in varying circumstances and settings. Neumann College’s library maintains the archives for the Neuman Systems Model. It is intended that graduates of the Master’s degree program have a sound educational foundation for advanced professional practice, for continuing

development of that practice, and for accepting both professional and civic responsibilities.

Franciscan values and tradition infuse the strong liberal arts and professional education which is basic in developing the professional nurse within contemporary society. Nursing is seen as a professional service performed for members of the human family who reflect the image of their Creator.

The Nursing curriculum prepares professional nurses who will be able to:
Anticipate and respond to change that affects continuing and new health needs of individuals, groups, and communities.

Provide nursing care to people of all ages and diverse cultures in varying circumstances and settings.

As unique health care providers, nurses are expected to define and evaluate their autonomous role and its impact on both the client and the health care delivery system. Advocacy for the development and delivery of health care services of the highest quality requires that these nurses collaborate with others who are engaged in health care in order to enhance the well-being of evolving local and world cultures.

It is intended that graduates with a major in Nursing will have a sound educational basis for beginning professional practice, for continuing development, for graduate study in nursing, and for accepting professional and civic responsibilities.
