Each applicant recommended for graduate admission by their department and determined eligible by the Dean of the Graduate College will be issued a Certificate of Graduate Admission. The Certificate of Graduate Admission can only be issued by the Dean of the Graduate College. The Certificate is the sole official verification that graduate admission to The University of Arizona has been approved.
Throughout the admissions process, questions about your application status, recommendation, or denial, should be addressed to your specific academic department or tracked through the online application system
The Certificate of Graduate Admission will specify the status to which the applicant has been admitted. The status will be one or the following:
Regular Graduate Status:
Students who meet all departmental and Graduate College admission requirements will be admitted to Regular Graduate Status. Only students in Regular Graduate Status can be awarded a graduate degree.
“Subject To” Admission:
Students who are admitted with a “Subject To” status, please note that your admission is subject to receipt of final official documents within 30 days of your enrollment at The University of Arizona. The required missing documents will be clearly stated at the bottom of your official Certificate of Admission. If you are currently pursuing a degree, the final document that must be submitted is the transcript which includes verification that the degree has been awarded. Failure to submit the required official documents may impact the disbursement of fellowship or scholarship funds and will prohibit students from receiving credit for current coursework, or registering for future semesters. Please send all “subject to” documents to: The University of Arizona, Graduate Admissions, PO Box 210066, Tucson, AZ 85721-0066 or bring them to the Graduate College front counter in Administration, Room 322 when you have arrived on campus
Admission with Deficiencies:
When previous academic work does not meet the general requirements for the corresponding bachelor’s degree at The University of Arizona or the requirements for the field in which the candidate proposes to specialize, additional undergraduate courses may be required. With departmental approval, a maximum of 16 semester units of undergraduate coursework may be completed after admission to a graduate program to make up deficiencies. No graduate credit will be earned for this coursework.

Regarding the scholarship(s) you have been awarded, please contact each scholarship organization and have them mail their check(s) to the VSU Office of Financial Aid, Valdosta State University, 1500 Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA 31698, ATTN: Wanda DeWeese/Scholarships.
If the organization is unable to submit their check(s) at this time, we will give you credit for the scholarship if the organization will provide a letter on company letterhead, addressed to Valdosta State University, indicating that the check will be sent in the near future. The letter should include the student’s name, student number and the amount of the scholarship. If the check is not received by midterm of each semester, the student will be responsible for any fees due on their student account.
Once we have received the scholarship check and/or notification, we will credit it to your student account. It may then be subtracted from your charges.
Please be advised, VSU does not participate in a billing system.
GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
By completing the General Scholarship Application you will be considered for scholarships administered by VSU; however, there are several other opportunities to explore. Hometown churches, clubs, professional organizations, and civic groups sometimes offer scholarships. If you are awarded a scholarship from a source other than VSU, please contact the Scholarship Coordinator in the Office of Financial Aid (OFA) for instructions for paying your fees with these scholarship funds.
Students currently enrolled at VSU will find books containing information on available scholarships in the Odum Library and in the OFA. High school seniors may want to check local high school libraries, high school guidance offices, college and university libraries, and offices of student financial aid. Students should also check with the academic department in which they are enrolled. A list of the VSU scholarships and other information regarding scholarships can be accessed on the World Wide Web on the VSU Offce of Financial Aid Web Page. Another source of information can be found on the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators’ Web Page for students and parents at www.Finaid.org/NASFAA.
We recommend that you not pay anyone to find scholarships for you. Scholarship search companies generally provide information you can obtain on your own with a few hours research. Contrary to most advertisements, there are not billions of dollars in unused scholarships each year. And, if you are guaranteed a scholarship or a refund of your money, be sure to read the fine print.

In the spectrum of educational funding, scholarships and grants are the “free money.” These awards do not need to be repaid. In general, scholarships are given based on merit and grants are given based on financial need. A student is automatically considered for Federal grants and Villanova-endorsed scholarships, listed below, simply by applying for financial assistance from Villanova University. For all other outside grants and scholarships, it is the student’s responsibility to verify application procedures.
Villanova University Grant
This is an institutional grant based on financial need. Students must be accepted/enrolled in a full time undergraduate degree program. All Villanova students must apply for need-based financial assistance to be considered for this program. This award can be applied only to tuition charges billed by Villanova University during the academic year (i.e. during the Fall and Spring semesters) for a maximum of 8 semesters (4 years). To be given priority consideration for the grant, students must meet the application deadline. May be replaced by endowed scholarship funds.
St. Martin de Porres Grant
Villanova University provides St. Martin de Porres Grants to serve the University’s goal of attracting a richly diverse population of undergraduate students - an essential component of our effort to afford the highest quality education to all Villanova students. St. Martin de Porres Grants are valued at full tuition and general fees. Grant recipients are from the Greater Philadelphia area and are members of the most underrepresented groups in undergraduate education, including (but not limited to) members of underrepresented racial and ethnic populations, students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and students from families in which few or no members have attended college. To be eligible for consideration, students must have exemplary high school records, correspondingly high SAT or ACT scores, leadership roles, and active involvement through service to the community. The Greater Philadelphia area is defined as Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania; Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem Counties in New Jersey; and New Castle County in Delaware.
Federal Pell Grant Program
This is a Federal grant for students demonstrating exceptional financial need and accepted/enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Application for Federal Pell Grants may be made by submitting an initial FAFSA or a Renewal FAFSA. Part time students may be eligible for Pell grants.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
This is a Federal grant administered by the educational institution based on financial need. Only undergraduate degree candidates are eligible. All Villanova students must complete the VU application and an initial FAFSA or the Renewal FAFSA to be considered for the program.
Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
Federal ACG provides up to $750 for the first year of undergraduate study and up to $1,300 for the second year of undergraduate study to full-time students who are U.S citizens, eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, and who had successfully completed a rigorous high school program as determined by the state or local education agency and recognized by the Secretary of Education. Second year students must also have maintained a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0. The program is available for the first time for the 2006-07 school year for first year students who graduated from high school after January 1, 2006 and for second year students who graduated from high school after January 1, 2005. The Academic Competitiveness Grant award is in addition to the student’s Pell Grant award. Federal Pell Grant recipients who meet the requirements for the Federal ACG program will be notified during the academic year of their eligibility.

Scholarship funds are awarded each year to new students who intend to enroll at Webster University for the following fall semester. Students who enter the University in any entry term other than Fall I will have their applications for scholarship assistance considered in the spring for the following fall semester.
Webster University’s general policy is to limit each new student to only one scholarship to ensure that scholarship funds can be maximized and benefit a larger number of students. All new students will be awarded the maximum scholarship they qualify for at the time they are accepted to the University.
The following are scholarship application guidelines:
Applicants must be seeking their first baccalaureate degree.
Applicants should have a cumulative grade average of B or better (as calculated by Webster University) on all prior work attempted in high school and/or college.
Applicants must have been accepted to the University as degree-seeking.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Unless otherwise noted, applicants must be enrolled at the Webster Groves campus only.
Scholarships are not applicable to summer session unless otherwise noted.
Scholarship awards to new students currently range from $4,000 to full tuition and are generally renewable at the same level if the required academic progress conditions are met. Awards apply only to fall and spring semester tuition charges at Webster.
Applicants who are accepted or submit required credentials after the scholarship application deadline are considered only if funds remain. Scholarship decisions are based on the University’s evaluation of an applicant’s previous academic background.
Scholarship funds donated to Webster University for specific needs and purposes are awarded to eligible students by the University’s Scholarship Committee. These funds carry special eligibility requirements and conditions. Scholarship criteria are subject to change. Institutional scholarships apply to tuition costs only. Tuition assistance such as vocational rehabilitation or tuition remission may affect a student’s eligibility for institutional scholarship awards.
Unless otherwise indicated, all scholarships are based on full-time, flat-fee (13 to 18 credit hours) enrollment for consecutive terms until required credit hours for graduation (128) are completed.
All grade point averages (G.P.A.s) are cumulative and are calculated on all previous academic work. For transfers, previous academic work includes all attempted credits at accredited institutions from which Webster accepts transfer credit.

Student aid is available to help you with those costs that are beyond your own resources.
Our trained, professional financial aid staff is available to discuss how you can afford Harper College.
Our primary mission is to provide you access, to help enroll a quality and culturally diverse student body, and to support the retention of our current students. Federal and state aid programs typically target students with financial need, as do many of our institutional funds. However, we also award scholarship funds that are intended to enroll high ability students and a culturally diverse student population.
Harper College awards financial aid based on specific federal and state regulations and institutional policies. We may adjust a financial aid award if there is a change in the family’s financial circumstances. Do not let changes in your family’s financial circumstances adversely affect your academic standing. Please allow a member of the financial aid office team work with you and your family first.
All students complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Not everyone is going to qualify, but why guess. The online form can be completed in about 30 minutes. Besides, you may not need the money today, but if, later in the semester, you do, a FAFSA in already on file and the Financial Aid team can serve you more quickly.
You must file a FAFSA each year to reapply for financial aid.

Truckee Meadows Community College Foundation and Financial Aid scholarships are designed to award achievement and encourage academic excellence. Scholarship awards are based on many factors: scholastic merit, college and community service, life circumstances, financial need and major field of study. Scholarship awards may vary in amount, but can range up to $1,000 or more per academic year.
As a current or prospective TMCC student, you are eligible to apply for scholarships. The two offices that are responsible for the advertising and awarding of scholarships are the Financial Aid Office and the Foundation Office. In addition, many outside scholarships are posted on the TMCC Scholarship Board. Check the board frequently as new scholarships are posted every week.
Scholarship Facts
All students planning to attend TMCC during the following academic year are encouraged to apply.
Access to the online scholarship application is available from December through February each year.
Completing your application on-line is preferred.
Scholarship awards are made in the spring for the following year – both fall and spring semesters.
TMCC scholarships are generally not awarded for the summer semester.
You apply for TMCC scholarships by using one application. You do not need to apply for a specific scholarship. Student profiles are matched with appropriate scholarship funds and criteria.
If you are awarded a scholarship, plan to receive half of the award in the fall semester and half during the spring semester.
If your scholarship is less than $500, you will generally receive it in the fall semester only.
Scholarship awards will be applied to regularly scheduled classes. Audited classes and community service classes are not funded through scholarships.
You must attend TMCC during the award year and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA to receive scholarship funds. You must complete a minimum of six credits in fall to qualify for your spring award.
You must notify the scholarships office if you do not plan to attend TMCC during one of the semesters for which you are awarded. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your scholarship for the entire academic year.
TMCC scholarships are not transferable to another college or university.
Incomplete applications and applications without transcripts will be disqualified. If you are unable to provide a transcript, you must contact the scholarship coordinator at scholarships@tmcc.edu or 775-674-7672.

Freshman Scholarships
All applicants must carefully review the admission Application Instructions and ensure that all required documents (including no less than an official 6th semester high school transcript or a final transcript for students that have already graduated from high school) are on file or mailed to the Admissions Office with a postmark date no later than January 25 in order to meet the February 1 filing deadline.
The following criteria are used to determine initial eligibility for our top scholarships:
Surbeck: Students with an ACT composite of 30 or above and top 10 percent of high school graduating class are considered for the four awards of $7,000 per year. Provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 or higher cumulative GPA, the award is renewable for an additional three years.
Presidential: Students with an ACT composite of 30 or above and top 10 percent of high school graduating class are considered for awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 per year. Provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 or higher cumulative GPA, the award is renewable for an additional three years.
Tech Challenge: Students with an ACT composite of 30 or above and top 10 percent of high school graduating class are considered for awards of $3,000 per year. Students with an ACT composite of 29 and below and top 10 percent of their graduating class are considered for awards of $2,000 per year (this award is limited and awarded until funds run out). Provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 or higher cumulative GPA, both levels of the Tech Challenge are renewable for one additional year.
Other: Some of our scholarship donors have set up scholarships with very specific eligibility criteria. These one year, non-renewable awards range from $100 to $2,500.
If scholarship funds become available from a higher dollar amount or multiple year award due to a recipient turning down their scholarship, awardees may be “moved up” to a more prestigious scholarship as appropriate. In addition, as scholarship funds become available, students that were not selected in our initial awarding process will be reconsidered for scholarship funding and notified accordingly.
Scholarship recipients will be notified of their awards approximately the third week of February. All applicants are notified whether or not they have been awarded a scholarship.
