Nursing Tuition and Fees at Simpson College

Total tuition cost for the ASPIRE Program at Simpson University is significantly less than many other programs of comparable quality. To ensure affordability, we provide financial aid in several forms. For details and application forms, contact Simpson’s Student Support Center or the Office of Enrollment Services. In addition, we offer a tuition payment plan which allows you to pay tuition in three installments. Your admissions counselor will be glad to assist you in making acceptable financial arrangements.

Successful participants receive the Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree and are qualified for entry-level nursing positions in all healthcare settings as well as graduate study. The degree prepares them to take the national RN licensing exam and become registered nurses.

This full-time 15-month program comprises the same amount of coursework and clinical experiences as the traditional program, but in a compressed and intense timeframe - including evenings and weekends - finishing with a five-week clinical capstone. The professional curriculum is 57 credit hours, the coursework begins every May and is completed in 15 months . The program admits 30 students per year and is recommended for students who have senior standing (90-plus credits) or have a previous bachelor’s degree or higher.

The tuition cost of the program is higher than regular tuition at $20,000 per student for residents of the state of Kansas and $35,000 for non-residents . Students in the program will incur additional costs above tuitition for clinical requirements, books, and ati testing fees.

Tuition and Fees

Because we are part of the State University of New York (SUNY) education system, tuition for programs at SUNY Upstate costs much less than those at private institutions.
Tuition (Cost of Attendance)

In 2007-2008, tuition for undergraduate students from New York state was $2,175 per semester full-time (12 credits or more) and $181 per credit part-time (fewer than 12 credits).

Tuition for graduate students from New York state was $3,450 per semester (12 credits or more) and $288 per credit part-time (fewer than 12 credits).

Tuition for students in the post master’s program is charged per credit at the graduate rate. Applicants may request to test out of or waive a post master’s program requirement.

Yearly fees for full-time students include a SUNY College Fee ($25), Student Activity Fee ($130), Health Service Fee ($146), Technology Fee ($100), and Disability Insurance Fee ($65). These fees are pro-rated for part-time students.

All students must have health insurance at the time of registration. Students who do not have health insurance should contact Student Affairs for more information at 315-464-4816.

Description of Tuition and Fees
In-State Tuition – Cost of college courses for qualified NYS residents only.
Out-of-state Tuition, Associate’s Degree - Cost of college courses for out-of-state residents in an Associate Degree program.
Out-of-state Tuition, Bachelor’s Degree - Cost of college courses for out of state residents enrolled in a Bachelor Degree program.

The Comprehensive Student Fee is charged to all students and consists of the following:
College fee - (mandatory) Fee required by all State operated campuses.
Athletic Fee - (mandatory) Supports all athletic programs, facilities and equipment and is open to all students.
Health Services Fee - (mandatory) Fee that covers the cost of the Health Center. Students are able to use the health services for minor illnesses and also offers counseling services.
Technology Fee - (mandatory) Supports the computer center and facilitates the continued improvement of computer systems and services such as email, classroom technology, technical help, and wireless connections.
Student Activity Fee - (mandatory) Supports a wide range of cultural and educational programs as well as student entertainment including weekend movies, comedians, bands, and more.
Transcript Fee - (mandatory) Covers the cost of all transcript requests present and future.
Alumni Fee - (optional) Donation to the alumni association. Provides students with a lifetime membership into the Alumni Association which includes invitations to reunions and class trips, a free subscription to Delhi’s official magazine, Delhi Horizons, lifetime use of the Resnick Library, as well as other benefits.
Fitness Fee - (optional) Provides unlimited use of the campus fitness center.

Payment of Charges

Statements of charges for each semester are mailed prior to Orientation. All charges are due and payable in full to the “State University of New York at Delhi” prior to the start of classes.

Miscellaneous Fees

Students who register after the first day of classes will be charged a $40 late-registration fee.

Students attending Fall Orientation will be assessed a $75 orientation fee. Students beginning classes in January and attending Spring Orientation will be assessed a $25 fee.

A returned check charge of $20 will be assessed for any check returned or redeposited.

Any student who does not pay the balance due in full by the indicated due date may be assessed a $30 administrative fee.

A $20 fee will be charged to any student wishing to add a course after the first five days of class or drop a course after the first four weeks of class.

Financial Obligation of Students

A student will not receive grades, transcripts, or any official recognition for work completed until all bills due the College have been paid.
