Bachelor in Pedagogics of Nursing at Fachhochschule Ravensburg Weingarten

The Social Work, Health and Nursing Faculty trains teachers in nursing, obstetrics and geriatric and paediatric nursing with the bachelor’s in Pedagogics of Nursing and provides academic training on the path to becoming a nursing teacher. With this bachelor’s course, the University is providing a specific academic offer in nursing teacher training.

The educational goal of the course is to qualify nurses systematically for vocational teaching and teaching-relevant nursing tasks. A modern understanding of training and independent training goals are taken into account, along with integrative practical relevance (lectures and nursing practicals) of the profession in vocational training.

Therefore, the course qualifies for two fields of nursing activity. On the one hand for a teaching role in training and further training in the nursing profession and, on the other, for application-oriented nursing science. To strengthen the action orientation and to guarantee the highest possible practical relevance, on the teaching side the course incorporates an accompanied practical phase over 20 weeks in a later working field and practicals in the teaching-learning lab. On the nursing science side, a project is undertaken with healthcare institutions from the Lake Constance and Upper Swabia region. In addition to the pedagogical-didactical, educational and professional teaching, there is a particular focus with the main subjects on a subject-oriented consideration of nursing and teaching. Accordingly, there are detailed seminars to promote personal and social competence (e.g. conversation, rhetoric, mediation).

30 students a year are enrolled in the winter semester. The full-time Pedagogics of Nursing course lasts seven semesters, including a practical semester and concludes with the internationally recognized Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Occupational Therapy Degree at Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur

Occupational therapy is a holistically oriented treatment which includes psychological, educational and social aspects. A basic assumption of this treatment is that people have a fundamental need to be active, and that purposeful activity has a therapeutic effect. A complete picture of the life circumstances of the patient is essential before the most suitable therapy and corresponding activities can be planned. Close monitoring of progress during treatment allows an individual programme to be designed to optimise the healing process. Medically prescribed occupational therapy is reimbursed by the social insurance institutions and health insurance companies.

Financial Aid of Nursing at Oulu University Of Applied Sciences

Degree students are exempt from tuition, but they have to pay the expenses for their own study materials. The majority of Finnish students are financially supported by the Finnish state. Foreign students are entitled to financial aid only with certain restrictions. For more information on financial aid for Finnish students see below. The studies of a foreign student are normally financially supported by the student’s parents, or the student has been awarded a scholarship from his/her home country or from an international institution to cover the expenses and living costs in Finland. For more information on financial aid for foreign students see below. Oulu University of Applied Sciences is unfortunately not able to provide any financial support to its students.

Further information on students’ financial aid is available from the following Web site: www.kela.fi (Financial Aid for Students)

Financial Aid for Finnish Students

Finnish students are entitled to financial aid, which is intended to provide an income to financially needy students whose parents are not under obligation to finance their studies and who are not eligible for aid under some other provisions. In order to qualify, a student must have gained admission to higher education, be studying full time, and be in need of financial assistance.

Financial aid is available in the form of study grants, housing supplements and government guarantees for student loans. The study grant and housing supplement are government-financed benefits with monthly payments to the student’s bank. The study grant is subject to tax. Student loans are granted by banks operating in Finland. Repayment normally begins after the studies have ended. Because the loan is guaranteed by the state, no other security is required.

Finnish students can also get financial help with studies that take place outside Finland, provided that they correspond to Finnish studies that would be covered by the student financial aid provisions or alternatively form a part of a Finnish degree programme. A study grant, a housing supplement and a government guarantee for student loans are available for studies abroad.
